Open For Business

sound familiar?

Brian knew that his organization’s website had grown haphazardly over the years with responsibility for style and content dispersed among department heads. As head of the technology department, he finally took the plunge and hired Creative-Ops to redesign the website.

In addition to developing a common look and feel for each department, we also restructured navigation to include action links that cut across department boundaries in order to streamline the user experience, swiftly answer questions, and help visitors find the information they were looking for.

Designing your website

It's not enough to throw a website together using a template or wizard-driven site-building tool. The results are generic, boring and ultimately ineffective.

Creative-Ops develops custom designs for every site we produce that reflect the marketing strategy, user experience, and visual identity that we’ve identified as crucial to your company's success. It costs a bit more, but it's worth it.

Strategic values that stick

To be successful, your web site should incorporate several strategic values:

  • Branding not only identifies your company, it also lets visitors know they’re on your site.
  • Impact/news value gives people something to talk about. If your site always has something fresh and newsworthy, you will constantly attract new visitors.
  • Audience/community values are a reflection of a site’s ability to satisfy the target audience.
  • Competitive values are features that keep you ahead of the competition.
  • Design value means that a designer with a strong aesthetic and concern for the visitor has translated the company’s objectives into a visual experience.
  • Content value means that editors and contributors have prepared content for display on the Web, rather than merely repurposing content from other sources.
  • Utility value means people can do things on your site, such as buy products, fill out forms, etc. It also means that the site responds quickly, solves problems and that all links work.

To help you incorporate these values, Creative-Ops will map out site planning, architecture and navigation in advance, so that you can see how information will be organized. And we’ll develop up to three or more custom layouts that include your home page as well as secondary and tertiary levels.
