Macrovision's proprietary SafeDisc software protects CD titles from unlicensed copying. To promote this product to software developers, they chose Creative-Ops. Our idea was to show how little regard people have for illegally copying software. We introduced the casual copier as someone who could drastically reduce revenues.

The idea worked. The ad, which ran in Software Business immediately gained the attention of software developers and distributors, reinforcing Macrovision's leadership position, and creating heightened demand for SafeDisc.
